Q & A Q. Who encouraged you to be a Musician & when did you know it was what you wanted to do A. My family encouraged me as did my High School Band Director, John McCarty. Q. What would you say to someone interested in starting a band A. Make sure you & everyone else is prepared, ie. know your instrument & the history behind the music that you play. Q. In your career what was your favorite gig & why A. A benefit gig for our Soundman John Schaper who passed away due to cancer. At the time I was in the band BadDog & we were well known in the Marshalltown area. There were three other bands at the benefit & we were the headliner.
